Mimi was born and raised in Franklin, TN.  The youngest of 4 children, faith, family and the outdoors have always been central to Mimi's life and art.  Mimi has been a creator from a young age since her grandmother, Doe, first introduced her to the world of art. She received a BS from Vanderbilt University and a MA in Art Education from University of Cincinnati-DAAP.  She has been an Art Educator for over 15 years. Having taught students from PreK through high school she is a recipient of the Brodie Grant for Excellence in Teaching and is a member of the National Arts Educators Association.

As an artist she specializes in the media of acrylic paint, ink and graphite--specifically focusing on concepts from real life--capturing the beauty in the raw and ordinary things of life:

"I find beauty in the ordinary and everyday things of life. The raw and realness of life is what draws me in. We are all broken yet still beautiful. I find lines and color all within our world. And feel the need to capture beauty in its raw and simple form. When we break life down, when we get rid of all the fluff and facade and striving to be loved and accepted, and just stop and look at what is right in front of us--that's when real beauty shows up, that's when life truly begins. My hope is that you see life in my art and it inspires you to be ok and beautiful right where you are just as you are. Because you are enough! Right now is exactly where you are suppose to be. There is a time for everything. And God makes all things beautiful in his timing."

When Mimi is not being a wife, a mom to her three kids or teaching art to her high school students she is making art! Mimi currently resides with her husband and 3 children outside of Nashville, TN.
